Business Analyst VS Data Analytics
1. Business analysts use data to detect what is business problems and find solutions according to it.
Data analysts on other source data, cleanse it, manipulate it, identify useful insights from it, and make conclusions out of it. Analyzing data is Data Analyst's last goal.
2. Business analysts do not perform a deep technical analysis of the data. Business analysts work strategically. They communicate with stakeholders clients and are concerned only with business aspects of data
Data analysts, on the other hand, spend most of their time collecting raw unstructured, semistructured and structured data from various sources, cleaning and transforming it.
3. Business Analysts focuses on the larger business implications of data and the actions that should result from them, such as whether a company should develop a new product line or prioritize one project over another.
4. Business Analysts depend less on the technical aspects than data analysts, although they do need a working knowledge of statistical tools, basic programming languages(R, Python) ,query languages (SQL , MySQL etc.), BI tools( Visualization Tools)
5. Business analysts should be proficient in business modeling while data analysts need strong business intelligence , data mining skills, programming skills & keep continuously updated with the trends in technologies like machine learning and AI.
6.For business analysts, most of the companies prefer individuals with strong knowledge of business administration . Although business analysts come from backgrounds in management, business, IT, computer science, or related fields.
On the other hand, Data Analysts require individuals from mathematical, statistical or IT background who require an understanding of statistical concepts, algorithms, and databases.
